Allysa B. Peyton
Allysa B. Peyton is the Assistant Curator of Asian Art at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art. She also serves as the series co-editor of the David A. Cofrin Asian Art Manuscript Series. She received her BA in art (metal casting) from Michigan State University and her MA from the University of Miami in art history. Since 2008, she has published scholarly articles, co-curated exhibitions and provided research support for exhibitions at the Harn. Among these, she curated String of Pearls: Traditional Indian Painting and co-curated an exhibition Temples and Festivals: A Celebration of Indian Art from the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art Collection with Professor Vasudha Narayanan. One of the main goals behind her work on exhibitions is to make Asian art and culture accessible to a broad range of audiences, from the scholar to the casual museum visitor. Interdisciplinary exhibitions, online and digital components to exhibitions, and collaborations with libraries are important components in the exhibitions process.
Katherine Pill is a curator of contemporary art, and is currently the Assistant Curator of Art After 1950 at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Florida, where she organized the permanent collection exhibition Color Acting and has worked to bring new media art into the collection. Previously she held the position of Assistant Curator at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, Missouri. Pill earned a BA in Art History from McGill University in Montreal and a dual MA in Art History and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While in Chicago, she was administrative director of the Student Union Galleries and co-director of Concertina Gallery, which exhibited the work of emerging and mid-career artists from across North America.
